Infineon Technologies AG and Flex have collaborated to introduce the new Flex Modular Zone Controller design platform for software-defined vehicles at CES 2025. This innovative platform, featuring a modular microcontroller (MCU) architecture and common hardware building blocks, is set to revolutionize the automotive industry.
The Flex Modular Zone Controller platform is specifically designed for rapid ZCU implementation, allowing automakers to deliver software-defined vehicles at scale with resilience. By combining Infineon’s innovative chipsets with Flex’s design and advanced manufacturing capabilities, automakers are provided with a next-generation zone controller platform that offers optimized Power-Distribution, Gateway, and Motor-Control solutions. This production-ready platform can be easily customized to meet automakers’ specific requirements, thereby speeding up manufacturing ramp-up and reducing time-to-market.

With endpoint-agnostic control implementation, the platform seamlessly integrates the modular MCU with power distribution and actuation functions.
