During Merlin’s Quest “With Great Power,” in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you will be tasked with delving into a Mystical Cave and getting past three Magic Gates, out of which the second gate can be quite confusing to open. The first Gate requires you to find three Gemstones: a blue Aquamarine, a green Peridot, and a red Garnet. While gathering these resources for the first gate is quite straightforward, opening the second gate requires a bit more ingenuity from players. You must solve a riddle that refers to key ingredients that can be found across the valley; however, deciphering the riddle isn’t as straightforward.
While the first gate puzzle can be solved by color-matching the resources, the second Magic Gate in Dreamlight Valley involves a rhyming riddle, “Discover the right crops to grow to continue on below. One is underground, the other gold and brown. What remains is red and round.” You must identify some of the main vegetables this riddle referring to, after which you must grow them at the same time on the mound in front of the game to go deeper into the Mystical Cave.
How To Unlock The Second Magic Gate In Disney Dreamlight Valley
First, the crop referred to in the phrase “one is underground” is the Carrot, and this vegetable’s Seeds can be purchased from Goofy’s stall in the Plaza or Peaceful Meadow, the starting areas of the game. Next, the “gold and brown” Dreamlight Valley’s second Magic Gate puzzle refers to Wheat, another Seed type that can be obtained at the same shops as Carrot Seeds.
Finally, the phrase “red and round” in the riddle is talking about the Tomato. Tomato Seeds can be acquired from the stall on Dazzle Beach, the area that becomes accessible once you complete one of Merlin’s quests, “Friendship is Everything.” After collecting all the seeds, return to the second Magic Gate in Dreamlight Valley. Plant the seeds into the mounds of dirt in front of the three statues, water them, and wait for each to grow.
Wheat can take up to 25 minutes to grow completely, and all three plants must be fully matured at the same time to remove the second Magic Gate in Dreamlight Valley. Be patient!
Once every crop is fully matured, the Gate’s spell will disappear, allowing you to continue further into the Mystical Cave. To solve the third Magic Gate, you must use the three crops they grew during the previous puzzle to cook a meal and eat it. Combining Wheat, Tomato, and Carrots will create the dish “Veggie Pasta,” and the reward for reaching the bottom of the cave is an Orb of Power, which must be obtained to free Ursula in Disney Dreamlight Valley and remove the curse from Dazzle Beach.
While the solution to the second Magic Gate in Dreamlight Valley might be obvious for some, it will likely be a confusing issue for others. Thankfully, the most difficult part will be the waiting as each crop requires some time to mature.
