And sometimes those things take time and I’m optimistic. And like you said, if a queer princess comes along, that’d be fantastic.”
Guillén played Gabo in Disney’s current Dream, a personality motivated by Grumpy from Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. Disney had actually made sluggish development towards LGBTQ personality depiction in its last years of tasks, consisting of tiny minutes in Forward, Eternals, Lightyear, Forest Cruise Ship, Medical Professional Strange in the Multiverse of Insanity, the online activity Charm and the Beat, Searching For Dory, Celebrity Wars: The Surge of Skywalker and Zootopia. In even more current years, the computer animated Strange Globe and live-action Senior high school Music: The Music: The Collection both consist of queer love subplots from sustaining personalities.
Guillén proceeded today, “It takes time with stuff like that. Representation has taken so long just in film in general with every studio and every company. And so it’s taken us this far to come this far but look how far we’ve gotten.”
