Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jonny Lee Miller, Sheldon Shepherd, and Bel Powley are set to star in a thrilling new Sky Original series called Inheritance. The five-part limited event series, created by Karla Crome and directed by Storm Saulter, is set in Bristol, U.K., and Jamaica.
In Inheritance, Claudia (played by Mbatha-Raw) is a determined young lawyer who travels to Jamaica to contest an inheritance claim by a local resident named Cudjoe East (played by Shepherd) against wealthy aristocrat Oliver Connaught (played by Lee Miller). As they investigate the contested estate, they discover a dark connection between past horrors and present injustices, exploring themes of colonialism and Caribbean energy.
The cast also includes Nadean Rawlins, Sean Gilder, Olunike Adeliyi, Richard Dillane, Diveen Henry, Jack Bandeira, and Shantol Jackson. Crome expressed excitement about working with such a talented team and bringing her characters to life on screen.
Inheritance is produced by Snowed-In Productions in partnership with Sky Studios, with executive producers including Ruth Kenley-Letts, Jenny van der Lande, Neil Blair, and the cast members themselves. The series will air on Sky in the U.K. and Ireland, with international sales being handled by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution.
