Fremantle secures first look and development deal with Emma Stone and Dave McCary’s Fruit Tree Productions
Fremantle has recently announced a significant partnership with Emma Stone and Dave McCary’s production company, Fruit Tree. This deal positions Fremantle as the primary home for all scripted television projects and unscripted docuseries produced by Fruit Tree. Collaborating closely with Fremantle’s Global Drama division and international distribution team, Fruit Tree aims to expand its slate and venture into new territories.
Founded in 2020 by the Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone and her producer-director husband Dave McCary, Fruit Tree’s current TV projects include The Curse, featuring Stone, Benny Safdie, and Nathan Fielder, as well as Fantasmas with Julio Torres. Their upcoming endeavor, The Yogurt Shop Murders, is a docuseries directed by Margaret Brown for HBO.
In addition to their television endeavors, Fruit Tree has an impressive film portfolio, including Jesse Eisenberg’s A Real Pain, Torres’ Problemista, and Jane Schoenbrun’s I Saw the TV Glow. Upcoming films from Fruit Tree include Bugonia, starring Stone for Focus Features, Checkmate directed by Nathan Fielder for A24, an untitled musical comedy starring Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti, and McCary’s untitled feature film with Universal.
