Sky has released a first-look image of Matt Smith starring in the upcoming limited series, The Death of Bunny Munro. Written by BAFTA winner Pete Jackson and directed by BAFTA-nominated Isabella Eklöf, the show is based on Nick Cave’s novel and produced by Clerkenwell Films in partnership with Sky Studios. The musician is also an executive producer on the project.
In the image, Matt Smith is seen shirtless with a cigarette, portraying the role of Bunny Munro, alongside newcomer Rafael Mathé as Bunny Junior. The series follows Bunny Munro, a sex addict and door-to-door salesman, who struggles to parent his young son after his wife’s suicide. The duo embarks on a chaotic road trip across southern England to deal with their grief in their own ways.
Nick Cave’s second novel, The Death of Bunny Munro, was first published in 2009. Known for his work as the lead vocalist of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Cave has created a gripping story that will soon come to life on Sky Atlantic and the streaming service Now in 2025.
