The Waterboys are teaming up with Fiona Apple, Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, and other artists to release a concept album dedicated to the iconic actor Dennis Hopper. The album, titled “Life, Death and Dennis Hopper,” is set to be released on April 4 via Sun Records. The first single, “Hopper’s on Top (Genius),” will be available on January 10.
According to Mike Scott of The Waterboys, Dennis Hopper’s life was a reflection of the times. He played a significant role in youth culture, Pop Art, counter-culture movements, and more throughout the decades. The album not only explores Hopper’s life but also delves into the broader idea of the human experience on Earth.
In addition to the previously mentioned artists, the album will feature Sugarfoot, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, Kathy Valentine, Patti Palladin, Barny Fletcher, and Anana Kaye. The tracklist for “Life, Death and Dennis Hopper” includes a variety of songs inspired by Hopper’s life and legacy.
