The Season 32 finale of DWTS was thrilling but it was also filled with a lot of crazed drama behind the scenes. What exactly went down that caused such a stir? More so, who was the culprit of the intensity? Read on for all of the exciting details.
DWTS Truth Behind Season 32 Finale Crazed Drama
The Season 32 finale of DWTS aired on Tuesday, December 5th on ABC. In the end, Xochitl Gomez was named the winner which was very much earned. Jason Mraz was the runner-up while Ariana Madix came in third, Charity Lawson came in fourth, and Charity Lawson came in fifth. There were so many amazing performances including the pros reminding viewers what they had as they are prepping to go on tour. Additionally, hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro suited up for a fun holiday routine that featured past winners. Plus, former pro, Witney Carson popped in after taking the season off.
However, there was apparently a lot of BTS insanity and drama that fans did not see as they led up to the finale. According to The Sun, what fans thought that they were seeing was often an optical illusion of sorts. Here’s what actually happened. The special holiday routine, which showed Julianne in her risque red number, singing and dancing, along with all of those special guests, was pre-taped. It was apparently filmed on Monday, December 4th, and had to be done three times. Allegedly, Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro were acting like divas during the recording. Per an insider:
“The glam team rushed up to the hosts to make sure they were camera-ready for each take. Julianne had four to six hair, makeup and wardrobe people around her at any given time,” and insider spilled. They were making sure she looked perfect and kept fixing her sparkly high boots so they wouldn’t fall down.”
Alfonso was also getting star treatment. He had someone there to keep him sweat-free as well as another fanning him. Then there was the grand opening segment where everyone united for one last time. This was also the part when the five DWTS finalists came down on the oversized balls. Apparently, also was not live.
Wait, There’s More
Though the DWTS finale was three hours, no actual filming occurred in the ballroom until 830 pm EST. More so, there was so much insanity going on in the ballroom with handlers putting up and taking down heavy sets. Then, there was a secret competition for prizes occurring between both sides. That at least kept things fun but what was not fun was the amount of time the judges had to put scores in. They apparently had to rush type in the scores and it seemed Carrie Ann Inaba looked remorseful after one lowball score.
