Edgar Wright’s remake of The Running Man, currently in production, just added Dexter’s David Zayas to the cast. Glen Powell is set to star in this highly anticipated film.
According to Deadline, Zayas will be playing the character Richard Manuel in The Running Man. The story follows Ben Richards, played by Powell, a man in desperate need of money for his sick daughter who joins the dangerous game show where contestants are hunted by killer teams. As the game progresses, dark secrets are exposed, and rules are broken.
The star-studded cast also includes Josh Brolin, Katy O’Brian, Lee Pace, Daniel Ezra, William H. Macy, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, and Jayme Lawson.
Directed by Edgar Wright, The Running Man is based on Stephen King’s novel, and Wright aims to stay true to the original story rather than follow the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie adaptation. The film is set to be released on November 21, 2025.
David Zayas, known for his roles in Dexter and Oz, is excited to join this project. He recently appeared in The Bear alongside his wife, Liza Colón-Zayas.
Overall, The Running Man is shaping up to be a thrilling and star-studded remake that promises to captivate audiences upon its release.
