Transmission Films has unveiled the main trailer for the upcoming film “Spit,” starring David Wenham as the notorious criminal John Spitieri. Directed by Jonathan Teplitzky, the film is set to premiere in Australia next March. In this sequel to the award-winning crime comedy “Gettin’ Square,” former junkie John Spitieri returns to Australia and finds himself incarcerated in an Immigration Detention Centre with old enemies out to settle scores. As the story unfolds, Johnny forms new friendships with fellow detainees and imparts his version of mateship. The cast also includes Helen Thomson, David Field, David Roberts, Gary Sweet, Arlo Green, Ayik Daniel Chut Deng, Sam & Teagan Rybka, and Sami Afuni. While the film may cater more to an Australian audience, its quirky and peculiar storyline reminiscent of “Trainspotting” is worth a watch.
