Criterion Collection announces an exciting lineup of 4K Blu-ray releases for June 2025, including some genre classics that will surely be a hit with fans.
One highly anticipated release is William Friedkin’s Sorcerer, a thrilling remake of The Wages of Fear that has gained recognition as one of the best thrillers of the 1970s. This release, with spine #1267, features a new 4K digital restoration and special features such as a documentary on Friedkin and behind-the-scenes footage. Sorcerer will be available on June 24th.
Also coming in June is Sidney Lumet’s adaptation of The Wiz, a unique musical featuring Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and Nipsey Russell. With special features including an audio commentary and archival interviews, this release will surely delight fans of Lumet’s work. The Wiz hits shelves on June 10th.
Terry Gilliam’s Brazil, a cult classic first released by Criterion on LaserDisc, gets a new 4K restoration for its latest release on June 3rd. This edition includes both the director’s cut and the “Love Conquers All” version, providing fans with a unique viewing experience.
In addition to these releases, Criterion is also re-issuing Paul Schrader’s Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters, Thelonious Monk Straight, No Chaser, Midnight, and Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould in stunning 4K quality.
