In an effort to boost attendance, Cinemark theaters are launching a new promotion where moviegoers can bring their own popcorn bucket for refills. This unique opportunity is part of the Bring Your Own Bucket campaign celebrating National Popcorn Day on January 19. For just $5, Cinemark will fill up any container you bring in, encouraging creativity and participation from popcorn lovers.
The National Association of Theater Owners (NATO) has introduced this promotion as one of four upcoming events to attract more people to the theaters. The Bring Your Own Bucket initiative follows previous successful campaigns like National Cinema Day, which offered discounted tickets nationwide.
Movie fans can bring in any vessel they choose, such as a Dune popcorn bucket or a tote bag, to receive an XL popcorn refill for $5. However, there is a limit of 400 ounces per container, so oversized containers from Home Depot are not allowed. Additionally, cleanliness is required, as concessions workers reserve the right to refuse serving dirty buckets.
To add to the excitement, Cinemark is hosting a social media contest where customers can showcase their custom buckets for a chance to win free popcorn. David Haywood, Cinemark’s SVP of Food & Beverage, expressed enthusiasm for the event and encouraged participants to get creative with their container choices.
This promotion is part of Cinemark’s larger effort to enhance the moviegoing experience, with upcoming events like Sneak Saturday, Date Night, and Family Day planned throughout the year. Stay tuned for more details on these exciting promotions. Transform your movie night with the Bring Your Own Bucket campaign and enjoy a classic snack in your favorite container while watching a great film at Cinemark theaters.
