Carrie-Anne Moss: No Regrets Choosing Motherhood Over Career
Carrie-Anne Moss recently spoke with The Independent about her decision to prioritize motherhood over her acting career, particularly during the peak of The Matrix franchise’s success.
“After The Matrix was such a big deal, I took a big break to focus on having children and being with them,” Moss revealed. Despite being offered significant movie deals, Moss chose to stay with her children. She reflected on holding her baby and realizing that her time with her children was more important than adding another movie to her resume.
Known for her role as Trinity in The Matrix films, opposite Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne, Moss took a hiatus from acting to raise her family but later returned to reprise her role in the 2021 film The Matrix Resurrections. Despite the film being released in theaters and on streaming platforms simultaneously, Moss remains grateful for the experience of working on the project.
Moss, who shares three children with her husband Steven Roy, has since appeared in various other projects, including Jessica Jones, Tell Me a Story, Wisting, The Acolyte, and FUBAR.
