Brittany Cartwright Talks About Family Trauma From Jax Taylor’s Drug Use and Her Doubts About His Sobriety
Brittany Cartwright discusses the impact of Jax Taylor’s cocaine addiction on their family, sharing the pain she went through and expressing skepticism about his recovery.
Following Jax’s confession about his long-term substance abuse in a podcast, Brittany reflects on how his addiction affected their marriage and their son, Cruz. She expressed relief that he is finally admitting his struggles.
“I’m glad that he finally admitted to what was really going on,” she shared.
Brittany spoke about the trauma her family endured due to Jax’s addiction and her struggles to help him overcome it.
“I tried desperately to help him,” she revealed. “I pray that one day he completely knocks this addiction, but I’m skeptical. His behaviors are still alarming, and his treatment plan seems to be the bare minimum.” Now, Brittany is focused on moving forward and doing what’s best for Cruz.
“I’m trying to navigate this as best as I can for my son and I, but every day is still a challenge and very difficult,” she admitted. “Jax has caused an enormous amount of damage, and I have very little trust in him at this point.”
Despite her doubts, she holds out hope that Jax can change. “My only hope is that one day, he will be a better person for his son,” Brittany said.
Brittany also teased that she would discuss Jax’s addiction and its impact on their family in more detail on the upcoming episode of her podcast, When Reality Hits, airing Friday, March 7.
