Justin Baldoni has been dropped by WME following allegations of sexual harassment made by Blake Lively in a recent complaint. Lively, who stars in It Ends With Us alongside Baldoni, claimed that he and his coworkers at Wayfarer Studios engaged in inappropriate conduct on set and attempted to destroy her reputation. In response, Baldoni’s lawyer called the allegations “shameful” and “categorically false.”
Lively’s complaint detailed a meeting with Sony Pictures, Baldoni, and others to address the alleged misconduct. She also outlined 30 demands for Baldoni and his team, including restrictions on showing nude videos, discussing previous addictions, and avoiding certain types of interactions on set.
The filing also revealed discrepancies between the planned marketing strategy for the film and Baldoni’s focus on the more serious domestic violence content. Lively accused Baldoni of using survivor content to protect his image and launching a plan to tarnish her reputation.
In a statement to The New York Times, Lively expressed hope that her legal action would expose retaliatory tactics used against those speaking out about misconduct. Baldoni’s attorney denied the claims, stating that Lively’s negative reputation was self-inflicted and that Wayfarer Studios had proactively hired a crisis manager due to Lively’s demands and threats during production.
The statement emphasized that the studio did not retaliate and maintained a professional approach in responding to media inquiries. The allegations in the filing were deemed false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious with the intent to harm Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios publicly.
