Beyoncé’s Halftime Show at NFL’s First Christmas Game Streamed Live on Netflix
Beyoncé made headlines as she took the field in her hometown of Houston to perform at the halftime show of one of the NFL’s first Christmas games to be streamed live on Netflix. The event took place at NRG Stadium during a break in the game between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens. Beyoncé wowed the crowd with a performance of Cowboy Carter hits, starting with “16 Carriages” as she made a grand entrance atop a white horse. She then sang “Blackbirds” with special guests Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell, and Tiera Kennedy, followed by “Ya Ya” and Renaissance’s “My House.”
The star-studded show continued with Beyoncé welcoming high-profile guests Shaboozey (for “Sweet ★ Honey ★ Buckiin’”) and Post Malone (“Levii’s Jeans”) on stage before performing “Jolene” and “Texas Hold ’Em,” where she even danced with her daughter, Blue Ivy. Beyoncé has a history of collaboration with the NFL, having previously performed at Super Bowl halftimes with Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. She also participated in the Super Bowl 50 halftime show. In 2019, Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, and his Roc Nation company announced an NFL partnership, producing every Super Bowl halftime show since 2020.
In February, Beyoncé announced her new album during the Super Bowl LVIII broadcast, releasing singles “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages.” The album, titled Cowboy Carter, was released on March 29 and has garnered 11 Grammy Award nominations for the 2025 ceremony. Beyoncé will be vying for her first-ever Album of the Year win, competing in categories like country, Americana, pop, and rap.
