Benedict Cumberbatch is replacing Tom Hardy in Cary Fukunaga’s adaptation of Jo Nesbø’s Blood on Snow. The crime thriller also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Eva Green, Emma Laird, and Ben Mendelsohn. Cumberbatch’s role is not specified, but he is believed to be playing a rival mob boss named the Fisherman.
Cumberbatch recently starred in The Thing with Feathers and is set to reprise his role as Doctor Strange in Avengers: Doomsday. He will also appear in Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
