The Bandier Program for Recording and Entertainment Industries at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School has established its first advisory board, consisting of alumni and music industry experts. This group will play a key role in shaping the future of the music business program, which is considered one of the top programs in the country.
The 13-member board includes professionals from well-known companies such as Warner Chappell, Virgin Music, Sony Music Nashville, Interscope Records, Sirius XM, and Sony Music Publishing. They will collaborate with program directors Bill Werde and Lisa Steele to provide mentorship and assist with job placement for students.
Dean Mark Lodato expressed gratitude to the advisory board members for their diverse skills and career paths, highlighting the excellence of music business education at Syracuse University. The university is committed to helping Bandier students succeed.
The Bandier bachelor’s program saw its first class graduate in 2011, and a music business master’s degree program is set to launch in the next fall semester in partnership with the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
The advisory board members include a mix of industry professionals such as Joey Papoutsis, Caitlin Lytle, Max Weinberg, and others, with the program named after music publishing executive Martin Bandier, a life trustee at the university.
