Season 2 of Silo finally delved into the mystery of the tunnels that had been shrouded in secrecy during Season 1 and the early parts of the second installment. Fans are now eager to know where Silo 18’s tunnels lead and if Juliette Nichols could potentially use them to return home.
The tunnel system of Silo 18 connects the underground city to the outside world and other silos. This was confirmed when Lukas Kyle repaired George Wilkins’ broken hard drive on the orders of IT department head Bernard Holland, revealing a map of Silo 18 showing the tunnels that connect the underground city to the external world. Bernard had learned about the existence of these tunnels from Juliette.
Juliette, who had previously seen the depths of the Silo in Season 1, observed a door and a large boring machine capable of accommodating multiple Silo citizens. This machine would need a significant amount of fuel to operate and could potentially be used to bore from one silo to another. The Season 1 finale hinted at multiple silos being in close proximity to each other.
As for whether Juliette could use the tunnels to return home, it is possible. Juliette has conquered her aquaphobia and learned to swim in Season 2, which could enable her to access the tunnel system at the bottom of Silo 17. If Silo 17 is connected to Silo 18 through the tunnels, she may be able to make her way back using her swimming skills. Alternatively, she could learn to operate the boring machine she came across to return to Silo 18.
For those interested in watching the show, Silo is currently available for streaming on Apple TV Plus.
