Warner Bros. Discovery has appointed Anton Levy, a private equity and technology expert, to its board of directors, as part of its efforts to enhance its leadership team. Levy, who currently serves as an advisory director at General Atlantic, brings a wealth of experience in the tech industry, having played a key role in major investments in companies like Airbnb, Facebook, and Uber.
The decision to add Levy to the board comes after pressure from activist hedge fund Sessa Capital, which had been advocating for changes in the company’s leadership. Warner Bros. Discovery stated that Levy’s appointment followed a thorough search process, with the company also recently adding Anthony Noto and Joey Levin to its board.
In a statement, board chair Samuel Di Piazza acknowledged the input from Sessa Capital and emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing its board with industry experts. CEO David Zaslav expressed optimism about the company’s future, highlighting the progress being made to drive growth and create value for shareholders.
Warner Bros. Discovery is focused on executing its strategy to leverage its assets and drive profitability in a changing industry landscape. Levy’s expertise is expected to provide valuable perspectives as the company works towards long-term success and shareholder value.
