Amazon has not commented on the news regarding the second season of the show “Jury Duty.” The first season, which aired in 2023 on Amazon’s Freevee, captivated audiences with its candid camera comedy featuring Ronald Gladden. Actors such as James Marsden portrayed caricatures of fellow jurors and courtroom personalities, while Gladden remained unaware of the ruse.
Reports indicate that the upcoming season of “Jury Duty” will take place at a corporate retreat, moving away from the courtroom setting. Filming for the season took place in the Agoura Hills suburb of Los Angeles.
Showrunner Cody Heller admitted to feeling apprehensive about executing the candid camera concept but credited the cast, especially Ronald Gladden, for the show’s success. James Marsden expressed similar sentiments, emphasizing the high stakes of filming with only one take permitted to capture unscripted reactions.
After embracing the candid camera reveal, Gladden signed with talent agency Gersh and secured a deal with Amazon to develop and star in various projects. He and Marsden, along with other cast members, have maintained a friendship since working on the show.
“Jury Duty” was created by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, with executive producers including Heller, Bernad, Schulman, Ruben Fleischer, Nicholas Hatton, Andrew Weinberg, and director Jake Szymanski.
