In this season of America’s Got Talent, the judges get to mentor their own teams and they brought back past contestants from previous seasons of the show. One of the people Heidi Klum chose to bring in was Hans. The performance was no surprise, but fans seemed angry at the move and slammed Heidi for her choice.
Here is why fans don’t want Hans on AGT: Fantasy League.
Hans performance on AGT: Fantasy League angered fans
Each judge gets their own team to mentor this season rather than just watching to see what the competitors do. They chose their favorites from past seasons and brought them in as their own fantasy teams to compete for the big crown. When it came to Heidi Klum, she brought in a controversial contestant named Hans. After Hans’ first performance, fans lashed out in anger.
Hans is a cabaret sensation who plays the accordion. His real name is Matt Gilbertson, and he was a quarterfinalist in 2018, showing that there are plenty of fans of his performances. He is also the only person to be buzzed twice in the competition – both times by Simon Cowell.
Cowell’s opinion didn’t change after his performance this week. “Look, if I’m being honest with you, he can’t sing, he can’t dance,” Simon said after the performance. However, Howie Mandell loved it, as did Mel B, who gave Hans a standing ovation. Simon did admit that they look for different things, and Hans is “very Heidi.”
Fans lash out at Hans and Heidi Klum after AGT: Fantasy League
Fans were not all impressed with Hans after the performance. Hans sang “The Bitch is Back” by Elton John on a piano. Heidi Klum even said that the piano once belonged to Liberace. Hans then danced and the crowd were all cheering loudly by the end. However, fans at home didn’t like it.

Fans took to social media to complain about the performance.
“Hans is in poor taste. Yuck!!! Not family friendly.”
“Not a good performance from Hans. Tough start”
“Maybe I don’t get the concept but this act had no business being on the show, poor choice Heidi.”
“no longer a family show with drag thing with horrible language. I had to change it with my kids in the room.”
“Horrible @AGT. I will not be watching this season. I thought you knew what families wanted. I was wrong.”
It seems that many fans have forgotten what America’s Got Talent is all about. The people who come on this show mostly are looking for a chance to have a stage show in Las Vegas. The people complaining that it isn’t a “family show” seem to not understand that most Vegas shows are not for families at all. An act like Hans fits in perfectly in a Vegas show atmosphere.
Plenty of people on X (formerly Twitter) were quick to respond to the complaints, showing that Hans will be polarizing once again. Regardless, it might be a tough road ahead for Hans on AGT: Fantasy League.
AGT: Fantasy League airs on NBC every Monday night at 8/7c. It also aires the next day on Peacock.
