GLAAD’s 36th annual Media Awards were held in Los Angeles to honor media that portrays LGBTQ issues in a fair, accurate, and inclusive manner. The event recognized shows like Agatha All Along and Hacks, as well as artists like Doechii. The ceremony, hosted by Michael Urie, also paid tribute to Cynthia Erivo with the Stephen F. Kolzak award.
This year, all 33 awards were presented in Los Angeles, with the show set to stream on Hulu starting April 12. Winners included Hacks for Outstanding Comedy Series, 9-1-1: Lone Star for Outstanding Drama Series, and Agatha All Along for Outstanding New Series.
Other winners encompassed various categories such as Outstanding Podcast, Outstanding Documentary, and Outstanding Video Game. Special Spanish-Language categories recognized shows like El secreto del río and Noticias Telemundo Colorado.
In addition to the awards, DRAG: The Musical, OUTLOUD, and other projects received Special Recognition. Q.Digital was also acknowledged with the Barbara Gittings Award for Excellence in LGBTQ Media.
