Art Evans, the actor best known for his role as Leslie Barnes in Die Hard 2, has passed away at the age of 82. Evans died peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 21, surrounded by family, as confirmed by a representative to The Hollywood Reporter.
“We are heartbroken to share that Art has passed away,” said his wife, Babe Evans. “Please respect our privacy at this time. A memorial will be held for friends and family to attend at a later date. Thank you.”
Evans’ memorable role as Leslie Barnes in Die Hard 2 showcased his talent as an actor. In addition to this, he also appeared in 1984’s A Soldier’s Story alongside Denzel Washington. Throughout his career, Evans accumulated over 120 credits in film and television.
On the big screen, Evans featured in various films including Christine, Big Time, Youngblood, and Metro. He also made notable television appearances in shows like MASH, Monk, and The X-Files.
Born on March 27, 1942, in Berkeley, California, Art Evans began his acting career at Frank Silvera’s Theater of Being in his hometown. His legacy is survived by his wife and son, Ogadae, following the passing of his son Sage in 2016. Rest in peace, Art Evans.
