Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco released a new single, “Sunset Blvd,” along with a music video on Friday, as part of their upcoming collaborative album, I Said I Love You First. The retro-style video features Gomez daydreaming about Blanco, with appearances by her fiancé throughout, including a mini version of Blanco. The lyrics of “Sunset Blvd” are suggestive, with Gomez singing about holding Blanco’s “big hard heart” and expressing her desires.
The song commemorates Blanco and Gomez’s first date on the famous Los Angeles street. This track follows the lead single, “Call Me When You Break Up,” featuring Gracie Abrams, from the upcoming album. “Scared of Loving You,” co-written with Finneas, was released as the first single to announce the album, with other guest features including J Balvin and Tainy.
I Said I Love You First is set to be released on March 21, marking Gomez’s first album since 2020’s Rare. The album announcement follows Gomez and Blanco’s engagement in December. In a cover story with The Hollywood Reporter, Gomez expressed feeling safe and secure in her relationship with Blanco, stating that she sees a future with him.
