Youth perspectives are often overlooked, but the FutureYOUth movement, led by the People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM), aims to change that. Empowering young Singaporeans to address their concerns with the support of the People’s Association, FutureYOUth has been actively engaging youths since its launch in 2023.
Through events, engagements, and community initiatives like the FutureYOUth Marketplace, young Singaporeans have the opportunity to champion causes they are passionate about. FutureYOUth has gathered insights from 127,000 youths on mental health, racial and religious harmony, and sustainability and the environment.
Mental health remains a significant concern among Singapore’s youth, with many recognizing the importance of seeking help but expressing hesitation due to concerns about the effectiveness and accessibility of mental health services. Meanwhile, racism is still seen as a pressing issue among youths, but there is growing optimism and openness to conversations around racial and religious harmony.
The impacts of climate change are being felt in Singapore, with the majority of youth recognizing the urgency of the situation and taking active steps to reduce their environmental footprint.
Join the FutureYOUth movement and be part of initiatives to build a caring, united Singapore. Attend their upcoming event on March 1, 2025, at Civic Plaza, Ngee Ann City, where fun activities will be available for all attendees. Learn more about this event and the movement here.
