The 50th season of Survivor is going to be a game-changer with a new twist – viewer participation. Host and executive producer Jeff Probst announced that the upcoming season, set to premiere in February 2026, will be titled “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans.” This season will see fans taking control and making decisions that will impact the game.
Fans will have the opportunity to vote on various elements of the season, such as the inclusion of idols, the final four fire-making challenge, and the location of the live finale and reunion show. Voting will open when season 48 premieres on CBS on Feb. 26. All voting will be completed before filming begins for season 50, as Survivor films months in advance before airing.
In addition to fan voting, CBS and Fiji Airways are sponsoring a sweepstakes where five groups of fans will win a trip to Fiji during the filming of the 50th season. Mike Benson, president and chief marketing officer at CBS, expressed excitement about the fan involvement in shaping the landmark season of Survivor.
This unique concept of viewer participation is sure to create buzz and excitement leading up to Survivor 50. Stay tuned for more updates and details on how fans can make their mark on the show’s milestone season.
