Artem Chigvintsev, a professional dancer, faced allegations of domestic violence from his ex-wife, Nikki Garcia, leading to his arrest last year. Despite the district attorney not pressing charges, Chigvintsev suffered significant consequences, including losing professional opportunities.
In a podcast interview on “Glamorous Grind,” Chigvintsev discussed the negative impact of the domestic violence accusations on his career and personal life. He highlighted the unfairness of losing income and professional opportunities due to the allegations, even though he was not charged with any crime.
Following the district attorney’s decision not to charge him, Chigvintsev revealed that he experienced financial losses, including being dropped from the faculty list of “Dancing With The Stars.” He also mentioned losing revenue from social media promotions, which his ex-wife continued to benefit from.
Chigvintsev’s attorney, Ilona Antonyan, clarified that it was Garcia who was the aggressor in their marriage, not Chigvintsev. He sought protection from her aggressive behavior, leading to his arrest. Chigvintsev emphasized that his priority has always been his son, Matteo, and expressed his commitment to co-parenting positively with Garcia.
After mediation in November, Chigvintsev and Garcia decided to settle their divorce to move on from the emotional toll of ongoing disputes. Despite not being on good terms, they are working towards improving their co-parenting relationship for the sake of their son.
As Chigvintsev navigates through the aftermath of the allegations and divorce settlement, it remains to be seen how he will pick up the pieces and move forward in his life.
