A group of popular comedians will be joining forces in New York City to support wildfire relief efforts on the West Coast. Comic Relief U.S., a nonprofit organization dedicated to alleviating poverty, is presenting Comic Relief: Stand-Up for L.A., a live comedy event set to take place at New York’s the Town Hall on March 3. The lineup includes well-known comedians like Jon Stewart, John Oliver, Ramy Youssef, Chris Distefano, Desi Lydic, Hannah Berner, and Josh Johnson, with more artists expected to be announced later. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit underserved communities in Los Angeles through Comic Relief US grantee partners working on the ground.
Comic Relief CEO Michele Ganeless emphasized the devastating impact of the L.A. fires on families and children in impoverished areas, expressing the importance of long-term support for recovery and growth. In addition to the main event, Second City will host a comedy night with proceeds going towards Comic Relief’s relief efforts. Tickets for Comic Relief: Stand-Up for L.A. are now available for purchase, offering a chance to enjoy a night of laughter for a good cause.
