Kim Kardashian’s Palm Springs Mansion Project Faces Delay Due to Unpaid Construction Fees
Kim Kardashian’s plan to construct a dream mansion in Palm Springs is facing another setback. The project, which has been plagued by delays since its inception, is now on hold due to outstanding construction fees. Kim purchased the $6.3 million property in 2019 with her ex-husband Kanye West, envisioning it as a luxurious retreat. However, construction has been hampered by an unpaid balance of $5,299.50 in fees.
Following Kim and Kanye’s divorce, the property was transferred to Kim’s sole trust in 2023. Kim filed a new permit for the mansion project in October 2024 after previous delays. Unfortunately, La Quinta building permits indicate that the project has yet to move forward due to unpaid fees, including charges for dusting mitigation, erosion control, and precise grading plans.
The mansion, boasting 20,310 square feet, is set to feature seven bedrooms, a pool, and a spa. Originally budgeted at $8 million, the estimated cost has now been reduced to $2.1 million. However, Kim’s dream mansion is far from completion, and ongoing delays have caused frustration for both Kim and project stakeholders.
In 2022, the city requested additional information regarding fire safety and pool code requirements, leading to initial delays. Despite submitting revised plans, the project encountered further setbacks, including expired building permits. Kim applied for a new permit, but obstacles persisted in the construction process.
A meeting has been scheduled for February 20, 2025, to address the delays and unpaid fees, with the aim of moving the project forward. Kim has expressed excitement about the property, sharing her collaboration with renowned architect Tadao Ando on social media in 2023. While the delays persist, Kim’s determination to see her dream mansion come to fruition remains unwavering.
In addition to the Palm Springs project, Kim is also undertaking renovations at her Hidden Hills home, including tearing down walls. Despite the challenges, Kim remains committed to completing her dream mansion.
