Alabama Shakes, consisting of vocalist and guitarist Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, and bassist Zac Cockrell, surprised fans with a reunion set in December. Now, the band has announced their first tour since 2017, scheduled for the summer in North America. In a press release, Brittany Howard expressed her excitement about reuniting with her bandmates: “Last year, Heath, Zac, and I started talking about making music together and hitting the road again as Alabama Shakes. This band and these songs have brought us so much joy. It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since we released Sound & Color and eight years since our last show. But we didn’t want this reunion to just be a trip down memory lane. We also have new music that will be released soon. We can’t wait to experience that special feeling when we start playing our classic hits like ‘Don’t Wanna Fight’ and ‘Gimme All Your Love’.”
Alabama Shakes released their second studio album, Sound & Color, in April 2015. The band has been working on new material with producer Shawn Everett. Since their last album, Brittany Howard has also released two solo albums, Jaime and What Now.
