Astropical, the new collaboration between Colombia’s Bomba Estéreo and Venezuelan band Rawayana, has officially launched with the release of their debut single, “Me Pasa (Piscis).” The group unveiled a nautical-themed music video directed by Edgar Esteves, Paola Ossa, and Ana Peralta Chong, showcasing a wild boat party that ends in chaos as the boat sinks.
Consisting of Bomba Estéreo’s Liliana “Li” Saumet and José Castillo, along with Rawayana’s singer Alberto “Beto” Montenegro and multi-instrumentalist Andrés “Fofo” Story, Astropical is already generating buzz ahead of an upcoming international tour. Fans can catch the group’s first live performance at Mexico City’s Vive Latino festival on March 16.
In a statement, Saumet expressed that Astropical represents an energy that was waiting to come to life, especially given the current global landscape politically, culturally, and environmentally. Montenegro shared his excitement at joining forces with Bomba Estéreo, noting the significance of their sonic universe.
Meanwhile, Rawayana is celebrating their first Latin Grammy win and a nomination for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the upcoming 2025 Grammy Awards. The band is also set to take the stage at Coachella this April.
Don’t miss out on the fresh sound of Astropical as they make waves in the music scene with their unique blend of sounds and perspectives.
