The new movie, titled “The Resurrection Of The Christ,” has been in development for seven years, with Gibson co-writing the script alongside his brother and “Braveheart” writer Randall Wallace.
The project is described as “very ambitious,” with a storyline that delves into themes ranging from the fall of the angels to the death of the last apostle. Gibson expressed his desire for Jim Caviezel to reprise his role as Jesus in the film, acknowledging that some CGI de-aging techniques may be necessary due to the significant time that has passed since the original movie was released.
