Piers Morgan, after three years with Rupert Murdoch’s News U.K., has decided to part ways and focus on expanding his Uncensored YouTube channel. Morgan’s production company Wake Up Productions Ltd. will now acquire the Piers Morgan Uncensored business, aiming to grow and diversify the brand, especially in the U.S. market. The ultimate goal is to expand the Uncensored brand globally.
This partnership was announced on Wednesday, with Morgan expressing his excitement to exclusively build his talk show into a standalone business under his own brand. News Corp will still have a commercial interest in Piers Morgan Uncensored until 2029, although specific financial details were not disclosed.
To further enhance the growth of the Uncensored brand, Wake Up Productions has enlisted the help of U.S.-based sales agency Red Seat Ventures. This agency has experience working with prominent figures like Tucker Carlson to increase sponsorships and associated revenues for Uncensored.
Morgan is optimistic about the potential of Uncensored on YouTube, as the platform has become increasingly influential. With 3.6 million subscribers and a roster of high-profile interviews, Uncensored is rapidly becoming a popular show on YouTube.
Scott Taunton, News Broadcasting’s executive vice president and president, sees this move as a groundbreaking business model that allows Piers Morgan to leverage his global influence and grow his business independently.
