Apple TV+ just announced the renewal of Bad Monkey Season 2, the crime comedy series starring Vince Vaughn from Wedding Crashers as a former police officer who uncovers a unique case that allows him to return to the force. Since its premiere last August, the first season has been receiving rave reviews from critics, earning a Certified Fresh score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 71 reviews.
Showrunner Bill Lawrence expressed his excitement about the renewal, stating, “I hope that people know that Carl Hiaasen is an idol of mine and an inspiration for me as a writer. To continue telling his story with Vince Vaughn and this amazing cast is very thrilling. I’m grateful to our partners at Apple TV+ and Warner Bros, as well as the entire team behind the show.”
Bad Monkey is based on Carl Hiaasen’s bestselling novel of the same name, with Lawrence as the creator and executive producer. The cast includes L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, and Jodie Turner-Smith. Season 1 also featured guest stars like John Ortiz, Zach Braff, Ashley Nicole Black, Scott Glenn, and Charlotte Lawrence. The executive producers include Jeff Ingold, Matt Tarses, Marcos Siega, Vince Vaughn, and Liza Katzer.
