Jennie Garth, known for her role on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” shared a touching tribute to her late co-star Shannen Doherty following the heartbreaking news of her passing on Sunday.
Garth posted a nostalgic photo of the two from their “Beverly Hills, 90210” days, reflecting on their deep bond. Alongside the image, she expressed her profound grief, stating, “I am still processing my tremendous grief over the loss of my longtime friend Shannen, the woman I have often described as one of the strongest people I have ever known. Our connection was real and honest.”
Addressing past reports of on-set tensions, Garth candidly acknowledged their disagreements, which she previously discussed in a 2019 episode of “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.” She recounted a heated argument that almost led to a physical altercation but emphasized their eventual reconciliation and enduring friendship.
“We were so often pitted against each other, but none of that reflected the truth of our real relationship, which was one built on mutual respect and admiration,” Garth wrote. “She was courageous, passionate, determined, and very loving and generous. I will miss her and will always honor her deeply in my heart and in my memories. My heart breaks for her family, Bowie, and all the people who loved her.”
Garth’s heartfelt message also mentioned Doherty’s beloved dog, Bowie, who was by her side during her final moments.
Shannen Doherty passed away on Saturday at the age of 53 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her death has left a void in the hearts of many, with numerous former co-stars like Jason Priestley, Gabrielle Carteris, Carol Potter, Brian Austin Green (all of “Beverly Hills, 90210”), and Alyssa Milano (“Charmed”) also paying their respects and sharing memories of the iconic actress.
This tribute not only highlights the personal bond between Garth and Doherty but also honors the legacy of a strong, passionate, and deeply loved woman.
