Sequence took home the Golden World Honor for best television drama series Sunday– linking a record for the honors at the same time.
The HBO series won its third World in the group, following its success at the 2020 and 2022 events. Sunday’s victory ties it with The X-Files (1994, 1996 and 1997) and Mad Guys (2007-09) for the most wins for best drama at theGolden Globes Both Sequence and The Crown entered into the evening with a possibility to connect the record.
Sequence‘s final season also snagged three acting wins Sunday — for supporting actor Matthew Macfadyen and leads Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook — to give the show a total of four, the most for any TV series on the night. It won best drama over Paramount+’ s 1923, Netflix’s The Crown and The Mediator, HBO’s The Last people and Apple television+’s The Early morning Program.
“We decided this was the right time to end, and that was bittersweet,” Sequence maker Jesse Armstrong stated in approving the honor.“Particularly for me, because I finally bought some shoes that are appropriate for awards duty, and I’m afraid I won’t get to wear them much longer. It is bittersweet, but things like this make it sweeter.”
Sequence is likewise the leading Emmy candidate for this year with 27 elections, though it was locked out at Saturday’s Innovative Arts event.
