First Look 2025 is back from March 12 to March 16, showcasing the latest cutting-edge films, discussions, and seminars at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York. The event kicks off with the US premiere of Durga Chew Bose’s “Bonjour Tristesse” and concludes with the stateside debut of Giovanni Tortorici’s “Diciannove”. In between, attendees can expect a diverse lineup of avant-garde films and engaging discussions.
The event features a special program called “Working on It”, offering a platform for works in progress and discussions about the creative process. Writers and editors from Reverse Shot will also host the Emerging Critics Workshop. This year’s lineup was carefully curated by MoMI’s team, including Eric Hynes, Edo Choi, Sonia Epstein, Sarah Luciano, and Eynar Pineda.
Some of the highlighted films include “Israel Palestine on Swedish TV 1958–1989” by Göran Hugo Olsson, “Zodiac Killer Project” by Charlie Shackleton, and “When the Phone Rang” by Iva Radivojević.
